We LOVE what the Scandinavians & Japanese do with their cabins, so we wanted to blend ‘tiny’ with their architectural styles creating the Betula one bedroom tiny house cabin.
It’s stunningly black cladding on the exterior is disturbed by the big panoramic window allowing the outside in. It’s interior just as bold with Siberian Larch Plywood encompassing the walls, ceiling and floors. All the woodwork is expertly hand crafted including the bed frame, desk and kitchenette creating a sense of a modern minimalist space.
We’ve designed the Betula to be a light touch on the ground, suitable for ground pads, foundation, trailer or ground screws. Add to that, it can be run entirely off-grid – with a solar system ready for even the UK’s climate.
Underneath the sleek style of this cabin is a SIP constructed shell paired with Durelis board (100% recycled material that outperforms OSB) to create a high performing home which is closely built to Passivehouse standards resulting in a reduced amount of energy to maintain the interior temperature. We also use some cork on the exterior and under foot for additional insulation. CLT is used in the core structure for both strength and its eco-credentials.
